Error on Page

Im running windows 2000 and IE 6, I first noticed this problem when trying to compose
email in yahoo. To insert receiver of email you click the To: and up pops a box to
choose, only when you click on it, it appears for a flash then disappears quickly
then reads in bar below, error on page, now even on this site typing my email I noticed
a link in light blue underlined when I click the box tries to appear then is gone.
Same thing on a Dell site. Any suggestions/?//
