I hope to be able to give you an easier solution Tracy. Download these two bootdisks
to another computer and double-click on them to start the makebootdisk procedure.
(So you'll need two formatted floppy diskettes.)
DELPART BOOTDISK & OLDBIOS BOOTDISK
(If you have a problem deleting old NTFS drives use the delpart bootdisk.)
With the OLDBIOS bootdisk put it in the A: drive and your clean Windows 2000 CD in
the CD-ROM drive and start the computer.
The OLDBIOS bootdisk should automatically re-direct the boot to the Win 2000 CD and
you should just have to press any key to boot from the CD.
Does your Windows 2000 CD have Service Pack 4? If not it is better to slipstream
Setrvice Pack 4 together with the core files from you 2000 Cd and make an .ISO file
with which to burn a Windows 2000 SP4 CD to a good quality CDR (Not a CD-RW!) so
that you don't have too much updating to do.
You can use AutoStreamer 1·0 (freeware) to do that for you.
Many CD copying problems are caused by a dirty or scratched CD. I just gently wash
the CD in luke-warm water with two drops of soap solution and a soft spongde and
then gently dry with a clean linen cloth.
