Workstations Dropping off Domain (Win2k server)

I am struggling here with an issue on my network. Every night since new years day (yes I was at work hungover trying to fix this) it seems various workstations are dropping off of the domain 1 by 1 at random times. When I go into the DHCP the workstation is no longer listed. When I try to renew the IP address from the DHCP, it says that the Ethernet adapter is disconnected, which of course it is not. Now the only way I have found to get things back up and running is to restart the DC, then go to each workstation and move it from the domain to a dummy workgroup, then re-add the workstation to the domain with the default credentials. I know Im probably being vague, but I can provide more info if anyone has any questions. Am I missing something here? Maybe a DNS issue. Was there any virus's that have gone out since the year turnover? Please help...
