O/E - Saving and Accessing Individual Folders

I would like to be able to move one or more folders from O/E , and to be able to open and access the emails in those folders without moving the folders back into the main copy of O/E. In other words, I would like to be able to treat the O/E folders much like any other folder in Windows. (And yes, I am aware that "folders" in O/E are not really folders in a Windows sense, but are single files containing the individual emails and an index to them.) Is this possible, and, if so, how? Thanks in advance.
