On the login screen, I presume you have a box for user id, and password. Is there
a box for domain? If you went through and removed the machine from the now defunct
domain, which it sounds like you have, then the only way to get into the box is through
the use of a local account. If you know the password of the local administrator
account you can use that to get in and create new user accounts. The local administrator
account is the account that is used when installing the OS and not just any old account.
