1st. let me say trying to put a new OS over one that's in place is a no no.. But now that you have it's going to take a bit to get it back like it was.. Because you stopped it b/4 it was done you may have nailed the reg.file...trying to get it back at this point may take a bit to long, so you may just want to just start over...load up the XP CD and have XP clean the HD off and do a clean install of XP..then you will be a happy XP user...
