Will it actually boot into Safe Mode? What about last know good config?
That error code covers a multitude of sins - and if registry files are nuked the
one(s) nuked are usually mentioned on the BSOD. A repair reinstall (which I'm not
sure if other responder meant), may sort you out, but the repair option he mentioned
is actually recovery console. It might be worth booting into recovery console and
running chkdsk c: /p. Then try again. If no good, repair reinstall may sort it -
or you may find you get BSOD at beginning of second phase of repair.
