Restarted in safe mode; access violation remained for Mastercam. You suggested 'memory' as a problem; what do you mean? I'm running 1.5gig of RAM; my pagefile size is set appropriately; and memory check indicates no problems. I have not reset any settings, prior to the problem occurring. Am I missing something here? Garry
