Go ahead and register there and post your problem. As for the memory:

If a memory stick (or a bank on one of the sticks) fails, it might still pass initial 
tests. XP might subsequently shut that area of memory off. This would shift all higher 
memory addresses (numbers) down so they remain sequential. And Mastercam, still believing 
it has 1.5gig, might be trying to use memory allocated by the system (or other apps).

Begin by making sure your BIOS does a full POST test, not "quick". You can re-set 
this to "quick" after one try. Also, try memtest86. If you can boot from CD, I would 
download the bootable *.iso so you can run it without windows loaded.

If the memory looks good, look at disabling Data execution prevention (DEP). See 
"Number Two - D.E.P" on the following page:

If nothing above works, I would start pulling memory sticks (in addition to looking 
through the Windows Updates).
