You stated a "caddy".. Is this a USB/FIREWIRE drive or is it in a removeable HDD
bay? Makes a difference and I just assumed you meant it was a USB drive. If a remoaveable
drive bay, you should be able to use recovery and diagnostics software while it is
in the tray (caddy). If recovery software says it is to corrupt, then the data is
lost.
