However, in your case it would seem that either you have a bad internet connection or part of your system is failing. Do you have another computer you can use? Can you install Windows 2000 on the spare computer? If so, try the SP4 download on the spare computer. While SP-4 is an improvement, it does not correct some types of flaws in your current Win 2000 installation. For example, if the registry is a mess, SP-4 does not clean it up. Also, slight defect in the RAM can cause strange things.
