Drivers aren't loaded at POST which is where you would have to hit the delete key 
to get into the BIOS, which is the OP's problem here.  He either has a USB legacy 
emulation setting in the BIOS that will allow a USB KB to be used at POST, or doesn't, 
which means he needs to be connected to a PS2 KB to recognize any KB commands/key 
presses.
