HELP. Need driver for early Digital Device. Please do not make fun of me because
I forgot where I found the driver for this thing years ago. It use to work with
my old Kaypro CP/M computer. I was thinking that maybe here on this forum there might
be an old timer that knows of a driver that would work for Windows 2000. The fellows
of on the XP forum would not allow this, I am sure, because the device is just too
old.
Maybe some of you remember. I have good memories of using this in my youth. I was
socially backward, but a real nerd when it came to Math and Scientific stuff and
stuff like that.
This is a 'Early Human Input Single Pole Digital Device' that preceeded the Internet
by many years. There were a few of use nerds that would use this to textually communicate
with others over great distances. It was slow, but enjoyable. Rather than do homework,
I would text message on a home brew made from my guitar amp on 3.735 Mega Hertz lat
at night.
From the photo you can see it needs some repair work on it, a couple of screws and
some hook up wire. But the part I don't remember is how to get a computer to recognize
it. I don't think it was plug and play, but it was easy to use if you had the righjt
hardware or software to make it work.
Here is a picture of it on Photo Bucket. It is the brass thing between my black
mouse and blue coffee cup.

Thank you for letting me do this. I would very much like to find a suitable driver
or program for it. It would take me months to write a program myself.
