DBX files aren't in a common format. They are a proprietary format invented by MS.
No, you can't convert them to anything else manually. Any conversion has to be done
with the Export process to seperate the individual messages from each other, and
only with the options given by the Export utility. In a DBX file, they (the messages)
are all sort of "mashed" together like sheets of paper in a file cabinet drawer.
You also can't just dump them back into the OE folder. They have to be imported
with the import process. This adds them to an already existing account by "melting"
two same named files together by building a new file, and adds different named files
to the OE database. It then populates the registry with that information. If it
isn't properly added into the registry by the Import feature, Windows can't use it,
and won't even recognize it. The Import process is programmed to do it automatically,
the user can not.
