Oh Oh. I was sure I read something about making a backup first! Now I can not find it!
Somehow lots of IT people hare having network issues with SP-4. A search of the MS KB shows that if you update a computer to SP4 the server may also need the update in a network with a domain.
Sorry I gave you the wrong advice. There is some way to unwind the SP-4 and go back to how it was. Here is a link:
