file can't be deleted

I have a file that can't be deleted, its name is too long for the recycle bin and can't be deleted. When I tell it to just to skip it, when i tried to delet it in cmd it kept telling me the file didn't exist, when i try to manually delete it's folder, it gives me the error, cannot delete REALPR~1.jpg cannot find the specified file. when i try to delete the file itself it just makes a ding sound and doesn't move, i think it has something to do with indexing but it tells me that properties are unavailable for the file Im not sure what to do, i don't think its a virus, its only 40kb is size, but it is sure annoying having it there. Also when I try to move the folder out of DocumentsAndSettings it tells me that realpr~1.jpg can't be moved because the source and destination filename is the same, but i have no file with that name anywhere else on my computer

it could be malware. try booting to "safe mode" with an administrator account; then you should be able to delete the file. in cases like this i find it helpful to have a second installation of windows 2000 on the computer. then i can just boot up to the second installation, and delete whatever files i want to in the first installation.

always had good results deleting pesky Files like that using 'Unlocker' or 'Move
On Boot'.

there are mor of those Apps on the Snapfiles Website, but I usually had success with
those I mentioned.

Windows does have a file name limit, and I have had a couple mp3's I made that surpassed the limit, and I couldn't move them, delete them, or rename them. I just ended up booting to a linux Live Cd since I use them, and had a couple flavors to try and deleted the mp 3's that way.
