taskbar and desktop icons missing Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 2:24 pm Windows Server 2003 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Jesus Duarte (1 messages posted) I have a w2k3 enterprise server with SP1, MSSQL, CF/MX PERL and PHP. I removed 9GB of movies from a user directory using rdesktop and the next morning the taskbar and desktop icons were no longer there. Tried ctrl+alt+del and tried to run taskman with no luck. I got the same results booting up in safe mode. Windows key and ctrl+esc yielded nothing. I am going to try a repair from the install CD in the morning but I am hoping I hear some kind of success story with a how to before I get started.
