I used to create such bat and vbs files for a year or 2 before. But now our company turned to desktop management utility - Desktop Authority from Scriptlogic (www.scriptlogic.com) and we don't need to use handwrited scripts at all. You should have a look at this tool - it can help you to solve your tasks. Drive mappings, printer mappings (as well as setting them as default), ie and office settings aplying, mailboxes management, software and service packs deployment - all of this and even more can be done with Desktop Authority.
