Hi All,
We have lots of folders on the Windows 2003 Standard edition server for our organization
which we share along with the users. We are controlling the access to these folders
with the help of NTFS permissions. They quite working well . When user logins to
his system he sees a shared drive (S:\) from this server and can also see all the
other folders which are shared although the permissions obliviously depends upon
their respective groups.
But the new requirements that are coming up with after the discussion with the management
are like these:
1. Directly map only the shared folders to which the user has access to and not the
whole S: root folder under which other folders are situated. In other words, only
show the folders to the users to which he has access too.
2. Users should not be able to browse the root folders with the help of UNC path
which are there on the S: root folder.
Can the above two new requirements can be fulfilled? If Yes, then how? Are there
any resources which you can point me too?
Thanks in advance.
