I am looking at buying a 4tb Network Storage Device for my database and wanted to know how my remote users from Colorado and Arizona can gain access to it.

This is what I have; Server 2003, T1 Lines 1500, Linux VPN Firewall pointing VPN service to the 2003 Server. I need to allow remote access/use to the new 4tb drive, what would be the best solution for this? Direct access via HTTP? (Is that safe?) or remote access to the NAS drive via VPN? The VPN is very secure and stable. Thanks! (Buffalo Technology 4TB TeraStation)
