I am really stuck here. am running 2003 SBS R1. I am trying to encrypt files in "My Documents" from the client. However, I get the same error message every try: "An error occurred applying attributes to the file \\SERVERNAME\path\file The network path was not found" I AM able to check "READ ONLY" and "FILE IS READY FOR ARCHIVING". I am also able to encrypt files on LOCAL drives on the workstation. I am able to encrypt file on the server if logged into the server. If I log onto a workstation as ADMINISTRATOR, I am able encrypt on a shared drive. Another strange thing...if I log onto the server as ADMINISTRATOR and encrypt a file, then add the users key to the file for access (using the Details button), the user still can't open the file from the workstation. strange. I am not using the Certification Authority. However, the user does have a certificate. Another user (same group) is able to use encryption with no problem. I have searched and searched but can't find this one.
