Upgrade on Existing RAID System

Is there anyway to do a simple upgrade (as opposed to a clean install) from 2000 Server to 2003 Server on an existing RAID system? The simple upgrade seems to only go so far and then stops as it cannot see the hard drive in the RAID system. A simple upgrade does not seem to give you the opportunity to install the RAID drivers as a clean install does with the F-6 option. Thanks
