Synching old and new servers

I have a new server that is in the process of being set up. It runs windows server 2003. I have an "old" server that is still running as the DC also with windows server 2003. The AD has been copied from the old server to the new server along with each users' folder. I cannot figure out how to change the target location for the My Documents for each user, I have created and linked a group policy to the OU but it does nothing. The My Docs target is still sending documents to the users' folders on the old server. Help please! DT

You need to set up folder redirection in group policy: User Settings | Windows Settings | Folder Redirection http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/2b24872a-05ca-41be-9887-33acc87a20561033.mspx?mfr=true

I created and linked the folder redirection GP to the OU and the settings I enter into the GP when I edit it will not remain after I close the window (even after hitting "apply." Not sure what I am doing wrong.

If you're replacing the old DC with the new one and want the new one to be the DC, you will need to move all FSMO roles off of the existing (old) DC and onto the new one.
