A-C is correct. When booting, it should tell you what drive to use. It could be "E"
or if from boot disk.com probably "R". In other words your cd rom's drive letter
is changed for installation. It will revert back after the installation is complete.
If your bootdisk has xcopy (it probably does if you see the word "banana" somewhere,
you can do the install the professional way.
1. Boot to the A:\> prompt.
2. Staying at the "A" prompt type.....
3. xcopy R:\win98\*.* C:\windows\options\cabs\ Press enter. This will copy all the
98 files to your hard drive, and return you to the A:\> prompt.
4.At the "A" prompt type.....
5.C:\ and press enter...
6. At the C:\ prompt type.....
7. cd C:\windows\options\cabs .. and press enter
8. At the C:\windows\options\cabs type ...
9 setup and press enter. Away you go.
notes. on item #3 watch your spaces. important.
As well, sometime before executing step 3 you must put your 98 cd in.
If that command fails, it may be due to the cd spooling up too slow. Just repeat
it.
