Hi Suki,
Evidently, you have been unusually methodical and logical in your approach to this
problem... I don't know the answer, straight-off, but I can suggest a line of enquiry.
I'm not familiar with PC Doc Pro, but when you uninstalled it, did you at any time
see a message to the effect that a particular DLL file was being used not only by
PC Doc Pro, but also perhaps by other programs as well, and that deleting it might
prevent those other programs from working properly? If so, I'd be strongly inclined
to follow that up. For example, try re-installing PC Doc Pro, and see if that cures
the problem. If it does, then try uninstalling again, making a note NOT to delete
that particular file.
When you get this message - that deleting a particular DLL file may affect other
programs - it's their way of saying "we think you can probably delete it, but we
can't be sure, because we can't be bothered to do the research, so this is our way
of covering ourselves".
Let us know how you get on.
