Transferring Folders and Files

I have an old HP Pavilion 7350P Desktop which operated on Windows 95 OS. I successfully
used it until about 3 years ago when Windows failed to engage after computer booted
up and a black screen with MS-Dos code started filling up the screen stating that
windows could not open and start successfully, etc. , etc.

Wouldn't respond to any command except exit.

I was able to start it in Safe Mode only a couple of times.

I do have other computers - a desktop running on Windows XP and a laptop on Vista.
Both are Dells.

Question: How do I connect one of these other computers up to the old HP to view
the contents as an external drive? What kind of cable do I use? I want to copy and
transfer my old folders and files from the old computer before I discard it.

Any suggestions?
