Hello there. Back again--decided to take a breather from all this
nonsense! Well, bright n early this morning, I came back and STARTED
AGAIN. Anyway, I decided to let Ws find the new hardware--and lo n
behold, it installed the right adapter. THEN w the right adapter--
the numbers n letters of which I COPIED DOWN n stashed away--the
monitor tab reappeared, and I chose generic AT&T, Ws made w its
voodoo, restarted, etc. Well, it's not PERFECT, but it's BETTER!
However, THEN, when I went in to choose another monitor, it only let
me search for a NEWER DRIVER, so I s'pose if I wanted to change the
mtr I'd have to uninstall it. So leave that for the moment. ANYWAY,
now I am back where I wuz when someone told me to uninstall the
adapter!!! At THAT point (before I did the uninstall bit), I had managed
to reduce the vertical lines to four (1.3 inches high n .3 inches apart),
but DOS was still blinking. Which is the situation I have NOW--lines
gone 'cept for those 4, and DOS is still blinking. PLUS, the mouse leaves
a trail--actually you can make cute patterns, spell yr name etc. Frst,
I though it was the monitor per se, but when I change windows n
come back, the patterns are gone.
ANYWAY, this is all so !@#$% TEDIOUS, but do you have ANY idea
what I can do to get rid of those four little lines, and to STOP DOS
blinking.
Once again, MANY MANY thanx for your help, and hoping there's a
solution to this crap!!! Millie.
