Terence: some tweaks to try;
1. right-click Network Neighborhood and choose Properties. Double-click Local Area
Connection.
in the Local Area Connection Status dialog box, click Properties.
at the bottom of that dialog, check the box for "Show icon in taskbar when connected."
then click OK and Close.
2. right-click an empty spot on your taskbar, open Properties, see if there is a
hidden entry in your systray that you can activate.
3. go thru the network setup routines again; that should install the icon you are
looking for.
