Hi Everett, Thanks for your help, I've been able to extract two files using the DOS extract utility, which has helped slightly. However, I haven't been able to extract the setupx.dll file I just get the message 'file not found' I've tried this with two different windows 98 CDs. When I use Safe mode my CD drove isn't available. Is there a method to boot to safe mode that will let me use the CD drive? Thanks again Simon
