Hi Everett,
I managed to get all the files but it still didn't sort my problems so I caved and
called a PC repair specialist. He removed my devices; sound card, modem, video card
and reinstalled them one by one. Since then it's been relatively trouble free so
it must have been a driver error. Thanks for all your help. Hope you had a good new
year.
