The best way is to know something about the Registry.
If you know where in the registry, et. cetera, all of you
best settings are, open the registry and Export all the
settings to a floppy or something (Temp folder to Floppy is faster.).
Then when you Re-Install Windows 98 you can just import the .reg file back into the
system.
Most setting are usually in Software area's
(Hkey_local_machine\Software...
(Hkey_custom_user\Software...))
however, if you pop the whole software key your problem
may still be there, BUT, your files that are causing problems will not be on your
system.
Check out Policies, that is where most setting are.
(Do a search in your registry for Policies))
