I have downloaded all three versions of the "OEM" images at Bootdisk.Com and still
must play in DOS, much as I no longer have the ready skills to do it with. Each
has the same Oak Sys generic CD driver that will fail when it gets to Mechanism #2.
And twice these have been such solid freeze symptoms that they affected the KVM
switch {I do not have space for three displays and three keyboards (well, the laptop's
display & keyboard almost don't count, do they?), although I am stuck with three
mice, or swap a mouse around before switching over}.
I've had to kill the power to the KVM device to be able to access this system I'm
connected to the Internet on.
Now what I have to do is borrow the actual alternate CD driver setup from the first
Bootdisk I already had on hand and use it to modify one of these three I got from
there tonight. But I'm fresh out of blank usable floppies (I have boxes of them,
I can reformat, stashed in a closet, under a ton of other stuff, like blankets and
comforters and quilts, you know, winter kinds of things). And it's past time to
sleep, what with having been up since about six thirty this morning.
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll find out tomorrow if it's going to actually work!
