1. The Microsoft 98Plus! CD-ROM contains supplementary
programs to ADD to a Windows 98 installation, not the Windows 98 operating system
itself.
2. eBay is an obvious place to find a copy of Windows 98SE, as are local used computer
stores. A 'startup disk'
will come with a retail version of Windows 98, and you can download many versions
of startup disk file over the Internet (simply Google 'Startup disk' or 'Boot disk')
3. Installing Windows 98 on a laptop that came with Windows XP pre-installed is a
VERY BAD IDEA !!
Your laptop very likely has proprietary hardware
for which NO Windows 98 drivers exist! (The mfr. isn't using Windows 98, why would
they bother?!) You might get Windows 98 to be bootable, but odds are good it would
be stuck in 640×480 + 16 color display, no sound, no USB 2.0, no modem, no Ethernet,
etc.
4. If you MUST have a Win98 laptop, buy a used one or have a local computer
shop custom-build one for you.
