|I do have the win98_74.cab in C:\Windows\Options\Cabs.
| KenB
|
That's always a good sign.

|Also I have the product key
|
You're home free.

|and the factory files are on the d: partition.
|
Tell me more about these "factory files".
My 1st thought was that you have a Compaq
or another brand that uses a hidden partition
--but that wouldn't be D: .

|I am booted to the command prompt.
|How can I force the system to reload
|just as if I am starting for the first time out of the box?
|
The executable that you run to install Windows is SETUP.EXE.

From the command line:
C:\Windows\Options\Cabs\setup
