|It is a compaq 5002 series system from computers4sure.

|let the kids use it and they have really butchered it up.

If those are PROGRAMS that have been INSTALLED on D:,
any changes that were made to the Registry when they were installed
will be obliterated when the new Registry is created with a Windows install.

In that case, such programs may not work properly--or at all.
