Reboot and this time hold down the F8 key(or the control key)till the Startup menu appears. Then select the step-by-step confirmation and hit ENTER. Then select "Y" or ENTER to every option that comes up. If any of these seem unnecessarily long, then that's where the problem lies. Once identified, search for the file(in Find Files and Folders) and then delete. Then reboot.
