This may sound irrelevant but bear with me.
My firewall, Outpost, has a popup blocker that I first turned off, then removed.
There are a bunch of products now that overlap in so-called helpfulness, like deleting
my cookies, &c, &c, often w/o telling me. The point is, could something you have
installed have a popup blocker? AOL advertises that it has a popup blocker. Could
your ISP be giving you helpful trouble?
