Do you perhaps mean regedit.exe rather than rededit.exe?
The commands regedit.exe "%1" and Notepad.exe %1 are normal entries in the Windows
Registry.
However, you should not usually allow an entry for Regedit to be replaced by Notepad.
The two programs do not perform the same functions; and in particular Notepad can't
edit a Windows 98 registry.
In both cases, you need to discover what file type has been changed in the Windows
registry. Your two problems can't be resolved unless you know what the program (Regedit
or Notepad) is trying to do.
