How have you changed the boot device?
Is it a genuie WinXP CD?
If you have changed the boot sequence in the BIOS then the WinXP is bootable. The
operating system in on the CD.
You haven't stated your comp spec. If its an old computer then I would stick with
Win98.
You could try restoring the registry. Start the comp up and hold the Ctrl key until
you see the DOS menu. Select Command Prompt Only then type in
scanreg /restore
This will run scanreg and give you an option to restore the registry settings to
a previous date. Select a date before this problem started the reboot.
If it doesn't start up correctly this time then I would suggest you get a Win98se
CD of eBay if you don't have one and do a format and rebuild.
