Well if you say you've had WinXP on this system with no problem. Was this after you 
couldn't install Win98?

WinXP normally used NTFS file system so the Format.com on the Win98 boot disk won't 
recognise the NTFS drive. You would need to have Fdisk on the boot disk so you can 
remove all partitions and setup new ones. If you have a 160Gb drive then you could 
split this drive in half and have Win98 on one half and WinXP on the other. But because 
of the size of the drive you will need a newer version of Fdisk to recognise large 
drives. Then you could have a dual boot system.
