You know that the **etc** bit is the important part. Right?
|I tried doing the windows diagnostic test to see if it is faulty ram

Testing RAM with the added complications of Windoze in the picture
--or anything else, for that matter--is a lousy idea anyway.
|How do you boot up directly from a disk upon start up?
|
{semantics}You don't boot *from* a disk; you boot TO a disk.
After that, you can **load an OS** from that disk.{/semantics}
YOU establish "Boot Precedence" in your CMOS Setup.
Tell it which disks you want it to look at to see if they have an OS on them
--and in what order you would like it to do that
(somewhat variable--depending on *your* BIOS).
Of your HDDs, Windoze will only load from C: (your Primary Master).
|and is there [any way] to check for faulty ram
|through a software diagnostic program?
|
Sure.
