Eudora directories changing

For years now, I have had Eudora direct my attachments to My Documents/Attached.
A few weeks ago, it started ignoring my instructions and sending them to $Eudora$/attach.
This continues no matter how many times I re-enter my chosen address in Options.
And I have checked all extant copies of Eudora.ini to verify that the same address
is in there.
I tried bringing this up on Yahoo's Eudora group, and for my pains I was insulted
by an XPhead who instructed me that My Documents 'doesn't exist', and I shouldn't
use it anyway. I have a low tolerance for people who inisist that "No, you nitwit,
the sun rises in the WEST."
As Qualcomm has stopped offering support for "sponsored" copies, it looks like
this is the only place left to turn for help without being chided for Technological
Incorrectness.
Another Eudora "issue": I am now making heavy use of R-Mail to read blog posts,
and try to filter them into seperate mailboxes. Usually eliminating the r-mail address
and filtering just on the blog tag works. But some of my filters refuse to operate,
including the ones for "Catholic and Enjoying It" and "The Curt Jester". Does anyone
know enough about filters to find the bug?
