HELP!!!! I'm supposed to be getting ready to get married in 2 weeks and instead I've gotten roped into trying to help a friend of my mothers print an important document. The document is saved in Works but something happened (before I got here) and it would not recognize the printer that has always been there. Someone else supposedly put the computer in safe mode to try to help. When I arrived on the scene I tried rebooting the computer. I've done bother control-alt-delete and powering off and on again and get the same result - a message appears saying 'Windows 98 starting DOS program Plug and Play for DOS and Windows Configuration Manager - R1.44 After that I get a blinking cursor. I've tried typing commands but it will not respond to the letter keys or the back or forward slash keys. It beeps when I press escape. It will reboot if I press control-alt-delete. How do I restart the computer? Can I take it out of safe mode? How can I export and or print the document from Microsoft Works? Emailing the document to another comuter would also be acceptable. Exporting the document to Word on another computer would have been my first thought if there were no other problems. I was also given a disk that supposedly had a copy of the document on it to print. The disk says it is a Radio Shack MS-Dos pre-formated disk. My computer does not recognize it and offers to format the disk. I know that will erase any info that is on it. I'm not sure if the document is on there or not, someone else thinks they put it there. I'd at least like to get this person back to where she was before I tried to help...she could see her document and play solitaire before I got there. I went nuts on the phone with "Hazel" at Microsoft who insisted I answer a million questions before she would tell me Microsoft stopped supporting Win 98 last July and that I was basically SOL. Helpppp?? Thanks!!!!
