This is a WINDOWS 98 forum.

Note: UPDATING firewalls is **NOT NECESSARY**.
The technology has been stable for over a decade.
All they ever "add" is BLOAT and BUGS (and these days, EXCLUSIONS).

The preferred technique is:
1) Completely UNinstall the app.
2) Get the oldest version of the app you can find.
It will
a) be the least bloated of the lot.
b) do everything you need done by a software firewall.

.On the downside, infections go looking for the *most popular* software firewalls
and try to cripple them first thing.
**Jetico** Personal Firewall might be worth investigating.
