Your perception may go to the EXCLUSIONS thing I mentioned.
The big "incompatibility issue" is that
ZA has stated they will no longer "support" DOS-based Windoze.

To translate that from marketing-speak, this means
they will not supply advice to people who use an ancient OS.
I suppose that the logic is
**This is a tiny fraction of the market and not worth any effort**
  and/or
**These are cheapskates who will never *buy* our products
--so why not totally discourage them away from our product line?**
As ZA has NEVER offered "support" for their free versions (beyond their forums),
I don't see any real change in their policy.

My understanding is that their current products will still *run* OK under W98
--but as I said, the OLDER the version of ZA, the BETTER it will run
*and* there wil be no loss of **core** firewall functionality.
