Can not access CD ROM - Invalid Media Type reported. Monday, October 15, 2007 at 5:36 pm Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Tom (15 messages posted) I am unable to install Windows 98 because CD-ROM can not be read the CD - the error message reports "Invalid Media Type". The C drive and D drive (Hard Drive and RAM drive) are both recognized. I can see the E drive but when I attempt to do a dir the error message reports "Invalid Media". I have tried two different CD-ROM drives and get the same results with both drives. The CMOS recognizes the drives so that works.
