Still scratching my head on this one, but further along. Took another look at it
C K and did what you suggested with my Ubuntu CD I burned with Nero on my RICHO drive.
It would not boot even when that was only option on the machine ( BIOS setup). Placed
that CD back in my XP box and performed an install from the CD, it auto ran and installed
on my XP box. Now I have dual boot on that box.

Loaded Ubuntu and ran it and discovered Brasero Disk Burning from within Ubuntu.
Figured what the heck. Burned another copy of the SAME iso with Brasero. Took this
new burned copy and placed it in my other machine, setting it as only boot-able medium
and this time it worked and installed!

Only thing I can figure is Brasero did something Nero did not. My Nero version is
a few releases old so possible it didn't like it. Maybe Nero in Windows environment
has limits that Linux did not impose on Brasero.

In any event I am now trying to configure Ubuntu so I can use it instead of Win98.
Another story for another Forum.

Thanks to you and gewg and everyone for their suggestions.
