I have the same problem....I just threw out my old motherboard and installed a new up to date board with 2gig of memory.....and tried to load 98 on a dual boot system....but it kept telling me that "not enough memory".....for a while I thought that my 98 copy was corrupt.....but after pondering what was going on .....I contacted my tech support where I purchased the hardware....and described the problem....they said that the error is displayed because 98 wont work with memory larger than 512meg.....the only solution they said to try was to install a 512meg stick onto your board and make sure it matches(which means that you may have to purchase another stick of memory to fit that board)....then load 98....then pull the old switcharoo....after the 98 load.....and put back the 2gig and see what happens......the other option was to find someone who has found a fix by modifying the config.sys line where the himem.sys is.... to allocate the required memory and see if that works....so the question is.....has anyone found out how to modify the config.sys line......???.....and has anyone tried the old switcharoo.....???
