Can not boot up in standard mode Sunday, December 28, 2008 at 2:05 pm Windows 98 Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by rob (25 messages posted) I try to boot up in statdard mode and in only goes to a black screen with a cursor in the top left corner. I have tried regscan restore and fix. The restore gives me and error message that it was not restored and the fix freezes up at the system.dat scan. I have used both of these methods to fix the problem before. I am able to boot up in DOS and Safe Mode. But am not able to access and hard or floppy drive or the inteternet in safe mode currently. Please help.
