to reset your Boot Precedence in CMOS Setup.

You shouldn't have had to do this--if A: was specified *first* in Boot Precedence
and the diskette is not defective (i.e. bootable in another box).

Sounds like the device is disconnected (been poking around inside your box??)
or is defective.
Can the drive read diskettes under Windoze?
